About

My name is Krystal and I’m 11 years old (I’m now 14 and I’ve been doing this for 3 years!).  My dad helps me with my blog and keeping me safe online.  I love science, technology, and engineering.  I’d like to go to Caltech or MIT when I graduate.  I have Lego Mindstorms and Raspberry Pi and I love computers and the internet.  I’ve already won the science fair a couple of times!  I’ve created a blog, a wiki, and I have YouTube videos too.  You can email my dad at anything_collectible@yahoo.com with any questions.  Follow me on Twitter @kid_pi

I don’t even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was good. I don’t know who you are but definitely you are going to a famous blogger if you are not already 😉 Cheers!

Hi, Krystal. Congratulations on your projects and this blog!! I’m sure you’ll be a great engineer someday.
I’m an electrical engineer and have a 7 months old kid. I dream of him one day “playing” with technology like you do (and I did before, too). There is nothing more motivating for a kid (real or “at heart” like myself) to see his or her ideas come to life.
    Congratulations to your dad too!

    Regards from Chile.

Hi Krystal! I’m one of your dad’s old students and remembered how excited he was when they first had you and your brother. I’m amazed at the kids you’ve become and hope my little ones have the drive and potential you exhibit! Just take his direction, he’s a great teacher, and you’ll go far.

Hey, I’m 11 too! I’m glad there’s someone else my age in the WordPress blogosphere. Love your blog! 😉

    • krystal92586 April 9, 2013 at 4:54 am #

Wow, your blog is great too! It’s sad when adults don’t think that 11-year olds are capable of very much. You’re proof that we are capable of a lot.

      • supposedgenius175 April 9, 2013 at 3:07 pm #

Thanks! I know, I hate being underestimated just because I’m young, but when it comes to speaking your mind, which is basically what blogging is, age doesn’t matter at all.

    Hi,
Great job on the blog! I am 11 Years Old Also. It is great knowing there is more of us working on the Raspberry Pi. You and supposedgenuis are right. Kids are sometimes underestimated but we can do a lot.

P.S: My mom is afraid of me burning down the house if I use the GPIO on the Raspberry Pi:)

That’s funny! My parents don’t let me near any of our appliances because they know that I love to take things apart. My dad helps me take apart old, broken appliances, but I’d love to get my hands on some other things. So, they’re afraid that I’m going to burn things down too!
      Be safe! haha!

I am a 11 year old blogger too! Not really as I started a few weeks ago:p I am from singapore and i just want to know if u can give be some tips about blogging. U have a lot of comments(while I have none) and I like yr posts! So any advice?
This is my not very well done blog which I made myself:http://justkennaslife.blogspot.sg

    • krystal92586 July 1, 2014 at 3:46 pm #

Hi Kenna, I would make some recommendations, for example I wouldn’t type your blog in a texting format. (Yr for your) (Bc for because)
I would also say look into topics that are very big and something that will help you succeed in school, for example I blog about coding and building robots because I want to become an engineer, so make sure that what you are blogging about is what you want become when you grow up, as well as what people want to read…. Hope this helped.

Thanks! I’ve been researching schools and I’ve now expanded my options. I’d also consider Florida Institute of Technology because of their connection to NASA. I also like Embry Riddle and Worcester Polytechnic, too.
